On March 26, PhRMA Executive Vice President of Policy and Research Elizabeth Carpenter joined Voters for Cures champion Terry Uhl at Reuters Pharma USA 2024 for a fireside chat highlighting the role of prevention and biopharmaceutical treatments in combatting chronic diseases. During the keynote session, “Innovation Saves Lives: Champion Policies that Improve Patient Outcomes,” Terry shared his story as a colon cancer survivor, emphasizing the biopharmaceutical industry’s role in improving patient outcomes. Elizabeth discussed laws like the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Biden Administration’s march-in rights framework that jeopardize the future of innovation.
