On October 15, PhRMA’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Michael Ybarra, joined Voters for Cures champion Cristi Waltz on stage at Reuters Pharma & Patient USA 2024 for the fireside chat “Transforming Patient Care and Experiences: Innovations and Advocacy in Modern Healthcare.”
Cristi shared her experience with autoimmune hemolytic anemia, recounting the struggles she and her grandson have had with insurance companies and their middlemen to get the medicines they need. Dr. Ybarra and Cristi also discussed policies that advance biopharmaceutical R&D and expand access to new medicines for people like Cristi.
