Today, PhRMA announced the 2025 recipients of its CAREs grant program. The initiative provides funding for community-led projects that help streamline care and improve access to medicines across the United States.
The 2025 cohort includes six organizations working across 15 states. Each recipient brings a tailored approach to helping patients understand their treatment options, navigate complex systems and get the care they need. Whether through school-based training, bilingual workshops or neighborhood outreach, these efforts reflect the critical role that trusted community organizations play in helping individuals and families access health services.

Patient Navigation for Arizonans Impacted by Cancer
Cancer Support Community | Arizona
Through a bilingual patient navigation program, this project will provide personalized cancer support services and education on cost-saving strategies for individuals in rural communities. By meeting people where they are, the initiative aims to make information and treatment more accessible.
Pediatric Medication Education and Management
Cure 4 The Kids Foundation | Nevada
Pharmacists at Cure 4 The Kids will provide individualized support for children with cancer, sickle cell disease and rare conditions. The program includes one-on-one education, multilingual materials and pharmacy coordination to improve treatment understanding, reduce dosing errors and support families navigating complex care plans.
Detroit RxConnect: Bridging Medicine Access in Underserved Communities
The Detroit Association of Black Organizations (DABO) | Michigan
Through community ambassador training, neighborhood canvassing and digital outreach, this program will connect Detroit residents with reliable health care information and resources. The campaign is designed to raise awareness about available services and improve access to life-saving medicines.
Seizure First Aid and Recognition Training for Schools
Epilepsy Foundation New England | Maine and Massachusetts
This project will train approximately 10,000 school staff to recognize seizures and administer rescue medications, improving response times and safety for students with epilepsy.
Empowering Families through Health Insurance Literacy and Advocacy
Organization for Latino Health Advocacy (OLHA) | California
In Southern California, OLHA will deliver bilingual, culturally tailored health insurance literacy workshops in local boxing gyms. The initiative combines community outreach, adapted education materials and policy research to help participants better understand their prescription drug benefits and make informed decisions about their care.
Expanding Holistic Health Care and Pharmacy Access
Southern Christian Leadership Conference | Global Policy Initiative
This initiative will offer workshops, virtual webinars and culturally relevant toolkits to help individuals understand prescription affordability programs, digital health tools and available support services. Activities will take place in communities across nine states (AL, AR, DE, GA, MD, MS, NC, RI, VA) and Washington, D.C.
The CAREs grant program is part of PhRMA’s ongoing efforts to support organizations working on the ground to improve patient access to medicines and strengthen care delivery. Each of these projects reflects a tailored, community-based approach to addressing real-world challenges, ensuring individuals and families have the tools and support they need to manage their health.
Lori M. Reilly, Esq.
Lori M. Reilly is chief operating officer at PhRMA, providing executive level management, leadership and strategic direction for the organization. In this role, Reilly oversees PhRMA’s advocacy activities, including its federal, state and international government affairs and alliance development work. Reilly provides strategic leadership and works across PhRMA to develop and advocate for practical policy solutions that will lower costs for patients.
Reilly, named by the Washingtonian as one of the 250 most influential people in D.C., has a long record of working with members of Congress on a bipartisan basis and collaborating with stakeholders across the health care industry. Reilly is a frequent presenter on industry-related issues, including testifying before Congress on multiple occasions.
Reilly has over two decades of experience at PhRMA; prior to her current role, Reilly was the executive vice president of policy, research and membership at PhRMA, leading the development and implementation of legislative, regulatory and political strategies to advance policies that encourage patient access and medical innovation. She has also served as counsel at the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Commerce and was Counsel to a member of the House Ways and Means Committee.
Reilly received a B.A. in political science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she graduated with honors, and a J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law. She currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband and their four children.
