PhRMA ha otorgado una beca de 140.000 USD a la “Emerson Diversity Health Foundation” como parte de nuestro compromiso de enfrentar la desigualdad en la asistencia médica y aumentar la diversidad de los elegidos para ensayos clínicos.

Esta beca apoyará la teleserie única, Tu Salud Tu Familia, la cual incluye segmentos educativos sobre la salud y segmentos de alcance comunitario para la comunidad latina. Creado por el Dr. Fabian Sandoval, el programa educa su audiencia acerca de condiciones médicas e investigaciones médicas con voces expertas de cada parte del ámbito profesional de la asistencia médica.

“Desde que creamos Tu Salud Tu Familia en 2019, hemos trabajado sin descanso para alcanzar nuestra meta de mejorar los resultados médicos de la comunidad latina,” comentó Dr. Fabian Sandoval, CEO de la ‘Emerson Diversity Health Foundation’. “Un enfoque central de nuestro programa es elevar el conocimiento comunitario acerca de, y el acceso a, ensayos clínicos. Esta beca nos ayudará a ampliar nuestro alcance de información culturalmente competente entre latinos, quienes han sido históricamente subrepresentados en investigaciones médicas.”

PhRMA continua a liderar esfuerzos para enfrentar la equidad en salud y promocionar mejores resultados médicos para poblaciones diversas y subrepresentadas. Nuestro enfoque se centra en progresar la diversidad de ensayos clínicos, mejorando el proceso de reclutamiento diverso de talento, y mejorando la equidad en asistencia médica. Esta nueva beca es parte de nuestros esfuerzos para trabajar con socios de la comunidad quienes siguen superando obstáculos históricos y sistémicos que dificultan la participación inclusiva en ensayos clínicos.

Lori M. Reilly, Esq.

Lori M. Reilly is chief operating officer at PhRMA, providing executive level management, leadership and strategic direction for the organization. In this role, Reilly oversees PhRMA’s advocacy activities, including its federal, state and international government affairs and alliance development work. Reilly provides strategic leadership and works across PhRMA to develop and advocate for practical policy solutions that will lower costs for patients.

Reilly, named by the Washingtonian as one of the 250 most influential people in D.C., has a long record of working with members of Congress on a bipartisan basis and collaborating with stakeholders across the health care industry. Reilly is a frequent presenter on industry-related issues, including testifying before Congress on multiple occasions.

Reilly has over two decades of experience at PhRMA; prior to her current role, Reilly was the executive vice president of policy, research and membership at PhRMA, leading the development and implementation of legislative, regulatory and political strategies to advance policies that encourage patient access and medical innovation. She has also served as counsel at the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Commerce and was Counsel to a member of the House Ways and Means Committee.

Reilly received a B.A. in political science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she graduated with honors, and a J.D. from the University of Nebraska College of Law. She currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband and their four children.
