The Atlantic: People v. Cancer

On November 9, PhRMA underwrote The Atlantic’s annual People v. Cancer event.  PhRMA’s Chief Operating Officer Lori Reilly sat down with Catherine Owen, SVP and GM of US Commercialization at Bristol Myers Squibb, for a conversation about the future of oncology R&D.

During their fireside chat, “The Role of Small Molecules in the Fight Against Cancer,” Lori and Catherine discussed the advancements Bristol Myers Squibb and the broader biopharmaceutical industry have made in cancer treatments, and the unique role of small molecule medicines in oncology. Looking forward, Catherine and Lori outlined how the Inflation Reduction Act’s “pill penalty” could limit the future of small molecule medicine innovation.
