PhRMA Statement on Political Giving

WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 12, 2021) – Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) president and CEO Stephen J. Ubl released the following statement regarding violent protests in Washington D.C. and the organization’s decision on political giving:

"As events unfolded in our nation’s capital last week, we clearly and publicly denounced the violent protests and called for a peaceful transition of power. The actions that took place violate the values of our nation and the values held by America’s biopharmaceutical research companies. That is why we are pausing political giving to those who voted to reject the outcome of the election. It’s time to come together as one nation and address the difficult challenges we face. The American people deserve nothing less.”
