New video: Patient and researcher fight JRA together

Have you ever heard of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis (JRA)? A lot of people haven’t.

It’s a disease where the body’s immune system attacks its own healthy tissues and is more intense than people realize. There are 6 types of JRA that affect nearly 300,000 children in the United States. JRA isn’t just what your grandmother has in her hands and feet. Yes, it results in swollen and inflamed joints that result in significant disability, but also damaged internal organs.

Thanks to researchers like Dawn, there are more than 70 medicines in development to help treat autoimmune arthritis like JRA. And with appropriate treatment, children like Parker can live long and active lives.
