Women’s Health Month: A conversation with Astellas.

Research shows that about 80% of women in the United States — about 29 million each year — experience vasomotor symptoms (VMS), otherwise known as hot flashes, with an average duration during menopause of about 10 years. Yet, women’s health at midlife has been largely overlooked due to prevailing stigmas, lack of understanding and limited guidance. Astellas is working to debunk the stigmas around menopause by engaging with many stakeholders on public policies that provide support to women’s health at midlife.

In honor of Women’s Health Month, I sat down with Christie Bloomquist, Vice President of Government Affairs and Policy at Astellas, to discuss their work to support women experiencing menopause. Learn how the momentum is building to meaningfully address women’s health care needs during this stage of life in the video below.
