Rx Response Raising Awareness Among Nation’s Lieutenant Governors

Big storms – like Sandy, like Katrina – happen. The toll can be devastating. Proper preparation to meet the human, logistical and supply-chain problems that come along with a big storm is critical. That’s why Rx Response (rxresponse.org) – comprised of the key-players in the pharmaceutical supply chain and designed to keep medicines flowing after a disaster – has become an important partner to those charged with anticipating and managing emergency responses to big storms, pandemics or man-made disasters.
Rx Response was recently recognized by the National Lieutenant Governors Association (NLGA) at the organization’s recent Annual Meeting in Oklahoma City. The NLGA adopted a resolution offered by Lt. Governors Jay Dardenne of Louisiana and Elizabeth Roberts from Rhode Island designed specifically to raise awareness among Lieutenant Governors about Rx Response and its role in keeping the medicine supply chain operating in an emergency and during disaster recovery.
PhRMA congratulates Dr. Erin Mullen, PhRMA Associate Vice President and Rx Response Executive Director, along with PhRMA’s State Government Affairs team for their work with Lt. Governors Dardenne and Roberts on this important resolution and for the continuing effort to work with States, communities and federal emergency and disaster managers to make sure that the victims of a disaster have the medicines they need.
