Steven P. Caltrider serves as Vice President, Deputy General Patent Counsel at Eli Lilly and Company. In this role, Steve oversees and manages the global patent litigation group for Eli Lilly. Steve has a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University and a J.D., summa cum laude, from Indiana University, School of Law. His experiences with Eli Lilly include all stages of global patent procurement and enforcement, including IP litigation in the major pharmaceutical markets of the world. His prior responsibilities have included both small molecule and biological products and leading the Biotechnology and European patent groups at Eli Lilly. Steve is also a Six Sigma Black Belt focusing particularly on improving the quality and efficiency of Lilly’s legal operations. He is active in various professional organizations, including the ABA where he chairs the Special Committee on Biotechnology, Chemistry, Medicine, and Pharmacology. He is a member of the Indiana State Bar and a registered Patent Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
