John B. Crosby, J.D. became the executive director of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) in May 1997. Prior to joining the AOA, he spent six years at the American Medical Association (AMA) as senior vice president for health policy where he was actively involved with policy development and strategic planning.
A graduate of Ohio State University College of Law in Columbus, Crosby practiced at the St. Louis law firm, Thompson & Mitchell from 1972-1977. He then spent five years working as the administrative assistant to U.S. Representative Richard A. Gephardt (D-MO) in Washington, D.C.
